hey there, I'm Danica the founder of Asmi Active. Here's how one midday run (and a questionable decision) turned into a brand.

I was living by the beach, and on a scorching summer's day, I decided a midday run was a genius idea - and this is where the questionable decision comes in. Midday, peak heat, zero shade, sun absolutely beating down. Not my smartest move. But the ocean was glistening, the waves were that perfect crystal turquoise, and I knew exactly what I had to do: jump straight in.

That was always my move - run, sweat, cool off in the ocean, recharge. Problem was, my activewear (and my underwear, let's be honest) never survived it. Salt water destroyed everything.

So I started wondering: why do activewear and swimwear have to be two different things? Why can't I finish a run, jump in the ocean, and not ruin my gear - or wear mismatched undies underneath just to make it work? Asmi was designed out of my own need for something multipurpose - one product that could actually keep up with me, wherever I ended up.

That question sat with me for years, until 2024, when I finally built it.
